Take Action to Support the Renewable Fuel Standard

Constituent contact with Members of Congress is the most effective way to build broad Congressional support for a worthwhile legislative initiative. Getting involved in the process can go a long way towards getting good public policy enacted into law. Accordingly, we ask that you take a few minutes to do the following things:

1. Email Your Senator: A sample letter is below *. Urge them to sign the Grassley-Johnson letter.

2. Follow-Up Phone Call: Follow up the email to your Senator with a phone call. (202) 224-3121 is the Capitol operator if you don't have the direct number. Ask to speak to the staff handling energy issues.

I am writing to ask that you sign the Grassley-Johnson letter to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in support of the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS).

With the price of petroleum at record highs, it is imperative that we break our dependence on foreign oil. The RFS will play an integral role in helping America meet its energy needs while displacing foreign petroleum with clean-burning, domestically produced biofuels. That is why I am asking that you sign the Grassley-Johnson letter to the EPA in support of the RFS and in opposition to efforts to waive the common-sense renewable targets that are provided under current law.
